Industrial Ceramics
In the “Industrial Ceramics” series, there exists a transformation of objects through the medieval wood-fired process. This dialogue between the old and new entertains multiple conversations regarding contemporary ceramics, Asian aesthetics, Duchamp/Dada, and the tea ceremony. The focus became primarily on porcelain bathroom furniture, revisiting historical associations involving vessels containing liquid, while at times reassembling the material as homage to museum conservators, as well as Eastern practices of filling exposed cracks with gold.
